began the Red Room project at the end of July 2004 and this was completed on
30th November 2004. The completion deadline given was 1st
December 2004. During this time, safety of the general public was of
paramount importance as the pub was to remain open during the majority of
these works. It was found only necessary to close the pub for a total of six
days intermittently throughout the whole project.
One of the key elements with
this project was to ensure that the new part of the building was in keeping
with the original building. Therefore we had to work extremely closely with
the local authority conservation officers to ensure that this criteria was
met. Many items such as the roof tiles had to be thoroughly researched and
had to be approved prior to their being fitted. Careful consideration had
to be given as to where the air conditioning units could be located on the
roof area so they could not be seen. Original architectural items were
sourced and brought in. The other major factor was to ensure that our
clients vision for the restaurant both internally and externally was met and
offered the perfect environment for their customers. By working closely
with them and bringing their ideas to life and by providing them with our
input, The Red Room was created...
